Rubric v1

How we rank GLP-1 options

Scores are editorial judgments made from public sources. They are not medical advice, and they are not for sale.

Published October 27, 2026. Weights below are the whole rubric. They sum to 100.

The 100-point rubric

CriterionWeightWhat we look at
Evidence and label fit25FDA indication match, and the quality of pivotal trials cited from PubMed or the label.
Price transparency20A published cash or self-pay price, what “month” means, and a dated source.
Total cost realism15Membership, labs, medicine, and shipping. Unknowns are disclosed, not smoothed over.
Care quality signals15Licensed clinicians, follow-up, and whether state coverage is disclosed.
Safety and product authenticity15A path to an FDA-approved product, pharmacy licensing, and no gray-market detour.
UX and support10Intake clarity, cancellation terms, and cold-chain claims a reader can check.

The same weights apply to a drug ranking and to a telehealth scorecard. A drug is not graded on bedside manner, and a clinic is not graded as if it ran the pivotal trial. Where a criterion does not fit, we say so and we do not quietly reassign the points.

Sourcing rules

  • Prices come from manufacturer list-price pages, manufacturer self-pay or savings terms, or an archived provider page with a capture date.
  • Every figure is labeled manufacturer-reported, provider-reported, orindependently verified.
  • Clinical claims cite FDA labels and peer-reviewed primary publications. We summarize. We do not republish a label or a paper.
  • Quotes stay short and attributed.

Freshness

  • Prices: rechecked within 30 days, or the page says the figure is older.
  • Regulatory status: rechecked within 90 days.
  • Clinical citations: rechecked within 180 days, or the page notes the label revision date.

Hard bans

  • No ranking of, and no affiliate link to, illegal compounded sellers, research-peptide shops, or overseas gray-market sources.
  • No dosing advice written for a specific reader, and no “start this drug” instruction.
  • No implied equivalence between a compounded product and an FDA-approved drug. TheFDA’s page on unapproved GLP-1 drugs used for weight lossis the reference we send readers to.

Conflicts

A commercial relationship is disclosed on the page. If we cannot confirm whether one exists, we say “unconfirmed.” Display ads, if a network is added later, stay in labeled slots and do not buy placement inside a score. See the affiliate disclosure.

Corrections go to the contact page. A wrong price should be replaced, not defended.
